After the opening of the world post pandemic, everything seemed to be getting back to normal. Employees were all set to return to their physical office and enjoy the work environment with their colleagues. But this pleasure didn’t remain for long. The Covid-19 pandemic arrived again and affected many countries which repeatedly wreaked havoc within companies.
With the emergence of the second wave, all the companies began locking their physical office to keep a check on the coronavirus impact on their employees. As per the government, the new Delta variant of covid-19 can be deadly even foryoung people.
Considering all these facts, Amazon, one of the leading e-commerce and retail sites has extended work from home until September.
Amazon said all the work which can be done effectively and efficiently from home should be performed from home only till September.
This has been a big relief to its employees as it will help shield the young people from being affected by the pandemic.
“Employees who work in a role that can effectively be done from home are welcome to do so until June 30, 2021”, an Amazon spokeswoman said in an emailed statement, adding the direction is applicable globally.
Amazon came to this verdict after learning that more than 19000 front-line workers in the U.S have been attacked by coronavirus. Additionally, Amazon was accused of endangering its employee’s well-being by keeping the warehouse open in the critical phase of a pandemic.
Likewise, other big e-commerce companies have also allowed their employees to work from home until the circumstances change.
